AngloGold shareholders give support to move listing to NYSE

The world’s fourth-largest gold producer, AngloGold Ashanti is moving its primary listing to the US in a bid to access deeper capital markets and improve its valuation. The move is part of the company’s strategy to become a more global player and attract more investment from the US. Shareholders approved the company’s plan to move its primary listing from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange to the New York Stock Exchange. AngloGold Ashanti will retain secondary listings on the JSE and the Ghana Stock Exchange, but its corporate headquarters will move to London.
